Her Story

In 1974, in the Benetti yard at Viareggio, DUNE was born into the shipyard's golden era — a true "Gentleman's Yacht," built the way things were built before speed became the point. Steel hull, aluminium superstructure, proportions drawn by hand. She was made to last, and half a century later, she has.

That endurance hasn't come from standing still. DUNE has been refitted three times since — in 2003, 2010 and 2018/19 — each pass sympathetic to her original lines, each one bringing her systems, comfort and finish quietly into the present without erasing the past. What you step aboard today is not a replica. It's the original — fifty years on, still doing exactly what she was built to do.

She has spent most of her life under private ownership, cared for rather than chartered, which is part of why she feels the way she does: unhurried, uncommercial, genuinely lived-in by people who loved her. For the 2026/27 season, for the first time in years, a limited number of these charters are being opened to guests outside that circle.
